For many, lakes answer the question "mountain or sea", as they harmoniously combine water with mountains, forests and other magical natural landscapes. I will not lie to you; I am one of them and below I will present you the ten most beautiful lakes in the world. Let's get started!

10) Plitvice Lake (Croatia)

In tenth place we do not actually meet a lake, but an entire national park of lakes, in Plitvice, Croatia. It is one of the oldest national parks in southeastern Europe and the largest in Croatia. The park is located in central Croatia, near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina and includes 16 aquamarine lagoons, which are connected by a series of waterfalls, as well as several caves, which were created due to karst weathering of limestone. Plitvice Lakes receive about a million visitors a year, who rush to admire this magnificent scenery.

9) Crater Lake (USA)

Crater Lake is the hallmark of the homonymous park and one of the most picturesque lakes in the USA, attracting crowds of tourists annually. It is famous for its clear blue waters, while the steep cliffs that surround it and the small impressive islets that have been created in the middle of it, compose a unique setting. Since it is in it that tributary waters do not end, it is considered one of the cleanest lakes in North America.

8) Five Flower Lake (China)

This Chinese lake is the "pride" of Yuhaigon National Park and is famous for its clear waters. The flowers that grow in the areas around it compose a colorful backdrop with predominant colors blue, dark green, pink and yellow. The lake is quite shallow, and its waters are transparent, so that visitors can easily see even the trunks of trees that have reached the bottom.

Hallstatt Lake is a popular tourist destination, not only for the lake itself, but also because of the homonymous village located to its southwest. This attractive place, built on the shores of the lake and under the shadow of the Alps, dates back to the Iron Age. It is also famous for its ice caves and nudist beach.

Thousands of tourists rush every year to admire its clear blue waters and the caves that surround it. Stalactites that look like icy fountains, as well as a flat terrace made of limestone have been created over the years around the lake, composing a highly original setting.

Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America and the second deepest after Crater Lake. It is located at an altitude of 1,897 meters on the border of California with Nevada and is surrounded by the Sierra Nevada to the west and the Carson Mountains to the east. 2) Lake Como (Italy)

In second place we find perhaps the most famous lake on the list, Lake Como. Lake Como is located in northern Italy and more specifically in the Lombardy region, considered by many the most beautiful lake in Europe. The area that stretches is a blessed place with the serene "protagonist", being one of the most romantic spots in Europe, surrounded by almost vertical verdant slopes, while in the background rise the imposing Alps. It looks like a painting, which people added some finishing touches with aristocratic mansions, picturesque villages and Victorian gardens, thus creating a work of art of unparalleled aesthetics and incomparable beauty.
